All bookings are subject to the Terms and Conditions of Hire.

The Village Centre has a Premises Licence from Mid Sussex District Council (Reference PNA0011). This does not include the sale of alcohol. Hirers wishing to sell alcohol must have the agreement of the Trustees and obtain a Temporary Event Notice from Mid Sussex District Council before the event.

The Village Centre also has a Community Building Music Licence from PRS PPL (reference 01653385). This does not cover a Hirer who makes an income from an activity during which music is played – such a Hirer is responsible for obtaining their own music licence if appropriate.

Hirers must be at least 22 years old.
Parties for 14-22 year olds are not permitted.
Anyone holding a party for young children must have an appropriate number of adults to supervise.

BOUNCY CASTLES / INFLATABLES: Please note that due to requirements of the Village Centre’s insurers, bouncy castles and inflatables are no longer allowed inside the hall at any time.

Deposit

A refundable deposit is required for all casual bookings. This will be £50 for events taking place before 6pm and £100 if the booking is after 6pm.

What is included in your hire

Use of the car park is included in your hire, together with full use of the kitchen, china and glassware, cutlery etc. There are two kettles, a cooker and a fridge. Tea towels are not supplied.

There are 130 chairs and 20 tables. Upholstered chairs are provided in the hall and further chairs and tables are available through the door on the right-hand side of the stage. The plastic chairs are more suitable for children. Heating is included in the hire and the thermostat will be pre-set for your event. Free WiFi is also included as well as a Hearing Loop.

You are allowed an additional 30 minutes beforehand for setting up and also 30 minutes after for clearing away.

We expect hirers to leave the Hall in a clean and tidy state as they found it and to dispose of all rubbish (including nappies) in the wheelie bins provided. If not, then an appropriate amount will be deducted from the returnable deposit.

Hall Capacity

The number of people on the premises must not exceed 150.
